How to change the country for Apple ID to download Melon, Genie app

Note: This is for iOS device users. It may be better and easier to create a new Apple ID instead of changing the country of your existing ID as you may lose all previous Apple purchases associated with your existing Apple ID. I tried using my existing Apple ID and changing the country but it's not allowed.

You will need to change the country of your Apple ID to be able to download apps such as Melon or Genie to stream/download music.

Digital music stream is important as they count towards 40-65% of most music show wins. Please see here for breakdown of contribution by percentage.

To create new Korean Apple ID:

1. Go to iTunes & App Store, Sign in” (sign out first if you are currently signed into an existing account).

2. “Create a new Apple ID”. Select your country/region as “대한민국 (Republic of Korea)”. 3. Under Terms and Conditions., select Agree and key in your credit card information.

4. Fill up any Korean address as your billing address. Please remember to include the postal code.
