Melon has changed the rules and does not allow users to register/login with email now. You can only register with a Korean phone number, which makes it difficult for foreigners.
Below is a tutorial on how to get around this, so we can all purchase Melon Passes to stream Sunggyu's title track, I'm Cold, and contribute to 40-65% of Sunggyu's music show chart scores.

If you still have an old version of the Melon app, do not update to the latest version and you should still be able to login in with your email and purchase Melon pass (Step 7).

After changing the country of your Apple ID to Korea, here is how to download the Melon App and stream Sunggyu's title track, I'm Cold.
1. Type and search for Melon in the Apple iTunes store. Download the item. In the instance below, I have downloaded the app so it states 'Open'
2. Click on the top right corner
3. Click on the top left to login
Go to Step 4 - If you have Korean friends who have i-Pin or Korean handphone/mobile number that can help you verify your account
Go to Step 5 - If you are a Foreigner and DO NOT have an i-PIN or Korean handphone/mobile number
4. You may login with your KaKao Account (please create a new Kakao account if you do not have it) OR
Sign up as a new member through Korean handphone/mobile number.

To create new Kakao account, all steps are in English so you should be fine. When you reach these pages, just select as per below.
To join as new member through new sign up, select the bottom right text. You can only sign up using a Korean handphone/mobile number.

5. You may purchase verified Melon account for a fee in USD here. This is on top of the cost of Melon pass. They also have options to verify your Kakao account for you if you have one, as well as purchase Melon passes. Please get the option to Stream and Download.
*Tried the above random account method in 2018 and managed to purchase the melon pass successfully but please assess the credibility of the vendor first and only proceed if you are comfortable. We do not take any responsibility and are not liable for any loss that may incur. = )
6. Using the information received after the purchase, login through Kakao with the email address and password information sent to your personal email.
7. After login, select the icon on the top left to see the options for purchase of Melon passes. Please note that the pass is valid for 30 days only and prices are in USD. Descriptions for each option in image below.
Note that the in-app for USD 10.99 DOES NOT COUNT towards the chart, please choose the second option for 30 songs.
8. Select your purchase option, then hit Confirm and key in your Apple ID password.
You will receive a message that says the purchase is confirmed.
You are all set and most importantly, when 14 Dec 2020 arrives, search for 김성규 (Sung Kyu ) on the Melon app, Download, Stream and Like his title track I'm Cold! Let's do this!!!
